Marketing your content can be difficult. If you are creating a lot of content and pushing it out through social media it can get lost with everything else. Recently a few social networks have added a little-known feature which allows you to easily give more visibility to a specific piece of content. This is great if you need to really promote something, are running a contest, or just want more visibility for a post / article.

What is pinning?
Pinning is sort of what it sounds like. Pinning is selecting an update on either Facebook or Twitter and “pinning” it to the top of your profile page. This way it is the first thing a visitor to your page will see and it will catch their attention.

What does pinning look like?
So what does pinning looking like on Facebook and Twitter? Let’s see…

How to Pin on Twitter:
Visit your Twitter profile page.
Find a tweet you want to pin.
Click the three-dot icon that appears at the bottom of the tweet, next to the favorites count.
From the drop-down menu, select “Pin to your profile page.”

How to Pin on Facebook:
Visit your Facebook business page.
Find a post you want to pin.
Click the down arrow in the upper, right-hand corner of the post.
From the drop-down menu, select “Pin to Top.”
